This memory card is smaller than CF – Card, but there was some problem about its capacity, so then it has been developed to Secure Digital Card (SD Card) that is thicker. However, this kind of memory card is still being used till present time because we can also use MMC - Card with electronic devices that support SD – Card such as PDA palm, cell phone, MP3 and many more. Due to MMC – Card, its size and number of pins are equivalent to SD – Card, but we cannot use SD - Card with electronic devices that has MMC -Card slot because the MMC - Card slot is thicker.
Today, most people use MMC -Card with Cell Phone that has Symbian Operating System result that made this card is continuously developed even thought SD -Card is existing.

3. Secure Digital Card (SD – Card)
This memory card is developed from MMC -Card for more capacity and more speed. Digital Camera that uses SD - Card can use also use MMC – Card, but the Digital Camera that has the MMC - Card slot still can’t use SD - Card. This kind of card is successful in the Compact Digital Camera Market such as Canon, Nikon, Kodak or Panasonic; they are using this card.
Reading & Recording speed of SD - Card are divided into 2 types: Normal Speed and High Speed with use "X" as unit = 150 KB/s
Example 1X = 150 KB/s
16X = 16X150 = 2.4 MB/s
